I have been both so excited and also very timid to dive into making this blog post. Excited because this has to be my most favorite photo shoot we’ve ever done, but timid because the amount of images we got was overwhelming and the thought of getting it all sorted into a post seemed daunting. But here I am committing to sitting down and getting this done! Although, I’ll admit that it’s a little on the dangerous side as well because I’m already getting kind of stir crazy being that we haven’t traveled since this trip in January. I am salivating for another getaway. I’ll just have to live vicariously through myself while posting these haha!
But first, a little note about the logistics:
Location: The Colony Palms Hotel & Bungalows as well as some shots around Palm Springs neighborhoods and at the base of the Tahquitz Canyon hiking trail for those dreamy desert backdrops
Photographer: the amazing Katie McGihon who was just so incredible. Katie spent more time with us than we had originally planned, was extremely sweet and accommodating and truly made our vision for this shoot come to life.
Hair and Makeup: LOL, me. I may get the courage sometime to hire someone to do my hair and makeup but I just have not escalated to that level of extra yet.
Car Rental: As James Bond said, “There are some things that just aren’t done, such as drinking a Dom Perignon ‘53 above a temperature of 38 degrees Fahrenheit.” I would add to that list doing a photoshoot in Palm Springs without a classic 1959 MG MGA. We rented ours from Coachella Valley Classic Cars and the process could not have been easier.
Outfit: You can shop the details of my looks, minus the mauve jumpsuit that is from Pretty Little Thing which is not affiliated with Liketoknow.it and the pink hoops I wore with it, using the widget below!
Now on to the photos!
Being able to have these to look back on this chapter of our lives and remember that feeling of our first pregnancy and all of the love we felt…I cannot tell you how much these mean to me. Please enjoy.
