I know y’all have been paying attention to the graphic tee trend. If you’ve learned anything about me through following this blog it’s probably that I don’t wear basics very often. And I include graphic tees in the “basics” category. But recently, I’ve been seeing more and more tees that I’m really liking. I think the biggest trend is to wear band tees, but that hasn’t really been my modus operandi since about 2004, so why would I revert back to my old skateboarding ways now. Ope. Yes, that’s right, I was a garage band skater girl in my first couple years of high school…and the last couple years I was a Birkenstock, Hollister & Abercrombie wearing fiend. Self-discovery, ya know? So if band tees are out, then which graphic tees have I been gravitating toward?
Save for the occasional Old Navy tee, I’ve been buying J.Crew graphic tees like they’re going away forever tomorrow. And although I consider t-shirts to be a more basic fashion item, I’ve been finding ways to make them a lot more of a statement with what I choose to wear them with. For instance, a classic satin padded headband and a pair of oversized gingham shorts. This tee would be cute with jeans…but why not add a little bit more pizzazz? I’ve included a “shop this post” scroller so you can shop this exact outfit and then I’ve also created a guide of all of my favorite graphic tees available right now!
