Have you ever bought an item for one outfit you’ve had in your mind, but then you just really struggled to figure out other ways to wear it?
This chartreuse green duster cardigan was one of those items for me. I bought it at Target because I thought the color was unique and it’s soft as butter! (plus right now it’s on sale for $19, so..get on that! It’s add to cart time!)
I bought it at the same time I got the blue midi dress from Target ($25) because something about the two colors together really intrigued me. But…it kinda sat in my closet for a while because I struggled with the shoe choice, believe it or not. Usually I would throw a pair of heels on with a midi dress, but none of my heels were really working with it – and then I suffered a massive tennis injury and wasn’t even able to really wear shoes for 2 weeks. Last night I had a board meeting and decided to wear this outfit and because of my injury, I needed to be able to wear it with flat shoes that didn’t take effort to get my foot into. THEN I remembered I had green pom pom mules (Amazon, y’all) and although the color was slightly different than the duster, I actually crushed super hard on how it looked together!
Board member…but make it quirky fashion, am I right? Lol!
So, today I had to wake up early and get to the doctor’s office for an appointment so I needed something easy to throw on that could transition from the heart hospital to grocery shopping to other errands. And since this morning it was 45 degrees and now it’s more like 70, I needed something to work for swinging Spring temps.
So I came up with this second look and I gotta say, although I bought this duster cardigan for the blue dress…I’m realizing how many things it also goes with to pack a completely different punch!
This shade of green is so unique that it really demands to be worn with other solid, more neutralized colors….but we all know leopard is a neutral. And oh my did I love how this look turned out!
I’ve linked all of the items in this blog post for you below! The leopard shoes and my tortoise disc earrings were out of stock, but I found almost exact matches for you!
