It’s All Gucci

June 7, 2019

Hello loves and happy Friday!

I truly believe in striking a good balance between affordable, every day pieces and splurge items. So although some posts on here will absolutely highlight favorites from places like Forever 21, I also want to include what I’m curating in my own closet from mid-level to luxury designers.

I recently added one of these pieces to my collection. After Adam and I closed on the sale of our old house, we decided to treat ourselves to new watches. There were a couple that I had been eyeing for a while. A few were by Tory Burch, but I also had my eye on the Le Marche de Merveilles watch by Gucci. I spent a couple days looking into all of my options and even seeing some in person. I finally came across Gucci’s G-Timeless model which is the exact same face as Le Marche de Merveilles, but it has a leather strap instead of the iconic red and green stripe. I thought this made it look more chic and professional and definitely could see wearing it more often than I could the other strap. Before I could pull the trigger and order it, Adam actually ordered it without me knowing and let me know one night at dinner (because aww) and y’all, when it came in the mail it was exactly as I hoped it would be. So of course I had to put it on immediately and go shoot some photos.

But it also got me thinking about designer brands and my loyalty to them. I’m usually a loyal brand girl and will stick to the same ones. Gucci has not always been one of these brands, but recently I feel like I’m gravitating more and more to it. The iconic gold bee, the preppy color combinations and timeless pieces. Before I bought the G-Timeless watch, the only thing I’d owned by Gucci was the icon ring. There are a handful of different icon rings, but I fell in love with the white zirconia ring with 18k gold detail and engraved interlocking G’s. Every time I feel like an outfit isn’t quite put together with the right accessories and needs just a little something extra, I pop this ring on. It’s so subtle and isn’t very in-your-face designer and I love that.

I’ve gone ahead and linked my watch and ring along with pieces that are on my Gucci wish list! Tell me in the comments what your favorite designer brand is and why! I’m looking forward to highlighting more of my favorites in future blog posts!

XOXO, Thessali
